Medical Reimbursement Policy at NITRD
The National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases (NITRD) is a premier institute under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. In keeping with its commitment to the welfare of its employees, NITRD follows the medical reimbursement norms and procedures as laid out by the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS).
Eligibility
- All regular working staff of NITRD
- Retired staff of NITRD
- Dependents of both serving and retired staff, as per CGHS guidelines
Applicable Rules
- NITRD strictly adheres to the rules and rates defined under CGHS.
- Reimbursement is applicable only for treatments and procedures within the CGHS framework.
- All applicable CGHS rules and procedures must be followed for claims to be processed.
Mode of Payment
- All medical expenses must be paid upfront by the beneficiary (employee/retiree/dependent).
- Bills and prescriptions must be submitted in the prescribed format along with supporting documents.
- Reimbursement is provided by NITRD as per CGHS-approved rates only.
Issuance of Bonafide Cards
To facilitate smooth access to medical facilities and reimbursement services:
- NITRD issues a Bonafide Identification Card to each eligible staff member and their registered dependents.
- This card must be presented when availing medical services and during the claim process.
Important Points to Note
- Medical services must be availed from CGHS-empanelled hospitals/clinics where applicable.
- Non-CGHS rates or facilities not covered under CGHS guidelines may not be fully reimbursed.
- Timely submission of claims is essential for prompt reimbursement.
