The institute has a 34 bedded paediatric ward which is headed by a paediatrician. The department is providing both domiciliary as well as institutional care, including ICU care for the children suffering from tuberculosis or other chest diseases. The institutional care is mainly provided to children with complicated tuberculosis e.g. tuberculous disease with pyothorax, pneumothorax, haemoptysis, meningitis, drug failure or multidrug resistant cases etc. and Non-TB cases like severe asthma, acute broncholitis, bronchopneumonia, cystic fibrosis respiratory complications in cases of HIV etc. The department provides specialist services for TB & Respiratory disease to referrals from Safdarjung Hospital, AIIMS, Maulana Azad Medical College, LNJP Hospital etc.

On Going Research :

  1. HIV Testing of All diagnosed cases of Paediatric Pulmonary, Extra-Pulmonary TB including MDR.
  2. Menstrual dysfunction in adolescent girls with non-genital tuberculosis.
